Three of my Favourite Movie Dialogues/Narratives

I have decided to take a break from my creative writing spree and just make a blog post. The title is pretty explanatory, so let's dive right in, and pardon me for the language they use! ;) :

  • Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) from Pulp Fiction (1994) :
Jules: Get the fuck out my face with that shit! The motherfucker that said that shit never had to pick up itty-bitty pieces of skull on account of your dumb ass.
Vincent: I got a threshold, Jules. I got a threshold for the abuse that I will take. Now, right now, I'm a fuckin' race car, right, and you got me the red. And I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin' that it's fuckin' dangerous to have a race car in the fuckin' red. That's all. I could blow.
Jules: Oh! Oh! You ready to blow?
Vincent: Yeah, I'm ready to blow.
Jules: Well, I'm a mushroom-cloud-layin' motherfucker, motherfucker! Every time my fingers touch brain, I'm Superfly T.N.T., I'm the Guns of the Navarone! IN FACT, WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOIN' IN THE BACK? YOU'RE THE MOTHERFUCKER WHO SHOULD BE ON BRAIN DETAIL! We're fuckin' switchin'! I'm washin' the windows, and you're pickin' up this nigger's skull!
This one is just pure brilliance of delivery. I just love the slang and the accent. GANGSTA!! Heights of attitude! It takes a lot of talent to make such a serious situation comical and very few can actually pull such a thing off! Pulp Fiction is a must watch for fans of the art of cinema!

  •  The Joker (Heath Ledger) and The Batman (Christian Bale) from The Dark Knight  (2008) :
The Joker: Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You are truly incorruptible, aren't you? Huh? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.
Batman: You'll be in a padded cell forever.
The Joker: Maybe we can share one. You know, they'll be doubling up, the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds.
Batman: This city just showed you that it's full of people ready to believe in good.
The Joker: Until their spirit breaks completely. Until they get a good look at the real Harvey Dent and all the heroic things he's done. You didn't think I'd risk losing the battle for Gotham's soul in a fistfight with you? No. You need an ace in the hole. Mine's Harvey.
Batman: What did you do?
The Joker: I took Gotham's white knight and I brought him down to our level. It wasn't hard. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!
Such an awesome dialogue. Though it is the rear end of the movie, anyone watching this scene alone could tell that The Joker, played by Ledger is one of the most appreciated and terrifying villains we have ever seen. I need to say no more, watch it over and over, this one never bores you!!

  • Narration by Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) from American Beauty (1999) :
watch from 4:50 for this dialogue :
Lester Burnham: [narrating] I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time... For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp, watching falling stars... And yellow leaves, from the maple trees, that lined our street... Or my grandmother's hands, and the way her skin seemed like paper... And the first time I saw my cousin Tony's brand new Firebird... And Janie... And Janie... And... Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday.
I had no idea what he was talking about. But whatever the inference I made from it, changed my life. It made me realize that however insignificant my life is going to be, at the end of it, I'm gonna feel grateful for every single moment of it. This dialogue showed me why exactly I need to love the people around me and love the things I do. It showed me why I should live! So that the last moment will be awesome. See this movie if you can catch hold of it, it is worth watching!!

    Ok, so, thanks for reading!
Hope you enjoyed the scenes, please do comment with more good scenes or your opinions about these scenes.
